Yellow on the outside and white on the inside? That’s the concept behind our friends’ new Asian American restaurant Bananas! Celebrate their opening with a delicious buffet to sample their menu offering as well as sake.

Think of this as a house warming party. A chance to check out their space, snag some food, drink some dranks, and watch Kekoa, Shia Ho, and Felicia Oh slay the house down. Ya know it’s not an official opening if the gays don’t christen it.

You’ll have a chance to meet the team behind Bananas and learn more about what it’s like to open a restaurant and their Asian American journey.

Bananas is an expression of the team’s take on Asian American food, incorporating classic Asian flavors with Western cuisine. The phrase “Bananas” has previously been used as a slur to describe Asian Americans who are ‘yellow’ presenting but culturally white due to their upbringing in America. Bananas offers a signature menu of American favorites with elements of Asian cooking.
